Women need slightly more sleep than men. The reason for this is that our brains are busier.
During the day we perform several actions at the same time, the infamous multitasking. During deep sleep, the part of your brain that is responsible for thinking, memory and language switches off. The more you use this part of your brain during the day, the longer it takes to recover.
If women sleep too little, the consequences are greater. Women are more likely to suffer from morning mood, tantrums or depression.
